Bermuda’s Newest Bridal Boutique, BLANC, sets to open its doors this February

She turns her head and finds him on bended knee. Her jaw hits the floor and he begins to say the four words she's been waiting to hear since their very first date. “Will you marry me?”She shakes her head, “Yes”, because she's unable to make sounds, and tears stream down her perfectly made up face. He glides the princess cut diamond on her dainty finger...
Ok, ok. So maybe it didn't happen EXACTLY like that, but never the less, it HAPPENED!!! And just like that, the lifelong girlfriend is a soon-to-be blushing bride with months of planning and tasting and preperation ahead.
She calls her besties to share the big news and plan the next “Girl's Trip” to NYC so they can pick out their bridesmaid dresses and, more importantly, the PERFECT wedding gown.
This is nothing new. Bermy bride's pretty much expect to have to travel abroad to pull the look of their dream day together, as traditional weddings in Bermuda are really breaking away from their traditional mold. Although our island provides the perfect wedding backdrop, when it comes to THE DRESS, unfortunately we don't seem to have the essentials available. Or, a varied selection that a picky bride (and some Bride-zillas) might demand.
In February 2010, the above limitations may no longer be an excuse for an impromptu visit to Kleinfeld's, as Bermuda's newest bridal store, Blanc Bridal Boutique, will be opening its doors in South Side, St. David's.
Owner Milika Seymour has been coordinating events and weddings both independently and in some of Bermuda's top hotels for years. Starting off online, Milika concentrated on assisting women in their search for the perfect dress for weddings, formal events, pageants, and the like. But her dreams were we for something more grand.
“Brides in Bermuda usually have to get exactly what they want for their wedding. I wanted to provide the same experience they would get in a posh New York boutique right here at home,” Milika says. “I will carry everything from the wedding gowns to the bridesmaid and flower girl dresses, and every accessory to go along with them.”On the new space, she says she wanted to have an enviroment that's modern and appealing, with a fresh feeling. “The main concern is to have a space where a bride can bring her closests pals and family to enjoy the experience with her.”
Brides can look forward to a range of lines, like Demetrios, Bari Jay, and Enzoani, as well as Monique C., a popular full-figure line in the US.
Milika, who has been happily married for 13 years herself, always tells her brides to do their research before selecting their gowns.
“Loon online and in magazines so you get an idea of what you like,” she says. “Also, bring a friend - a trusted friend. You need to have someone with you that will tell you the truth.”
For Milika, this isn't just a business opportunity – it's her opportunity to open the doors on possibilies for brides that there may not have been before. From the busy corporate bride who just doesn't have time to balance wedding planning to the young bride who doesn't have the money, Blanc Bridal is bringing everything you need to make your day that much more special, right here in Bermuda.
